French Bread Pizza Boats

Some of the funnest things in life are the simplest. This recipe would be in that category. It's something that's really easy and perfect for a weeknight. Its also fun for kids and easily amused adults like myself because you get to make your own pizza and pick your own toppings. I also made this once with cooked crumbled up Italian sausage. It turned out delicious.

I never would've thought about making this if I didn't have a loaf of French bread to use up. Thank heavens the light bulb went off to throw this together quick.

Ingredients

1 loaf of french bread
Pizza sauce
Mozzarella cheese
Black Olives, sliced
Turkey Pepperoni
Canned mushrooms, rinsed
Onions, diced
Penzey's Pizza Seasoning (or Italian Seasoning)

Instructions

Slice the french bread in half. The slice each half into three pieces.

Spread pizza sauce on each "pizza boat". Sprinkle with pizza seasoning.

Add the pepperoni, black olives, mushrooms, and onions (or whatever toppings you choose). Then sprinkle cheese over top and bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until the cheese starts to brown.
